How we started, and where we're going.
Our Story
What started as an Instagram account shouting about period poverty quickly grew into a nationwide charity fighting for menstrual equity that was donating millions of period products a year.
The Period Place is proof that when you believe in something, and yourself, you can change the bloody world.
Our Future
Thanks to a new partnership that doubles our nationwide period product distribution points, this year sees us getting back to what we do best - being LOUD!
With campaigns to reduce stigma, new partnerships, and preparation for 2025's big research project on menstrual health in Aotearoa, we're going to need more support.

The Period Place is the largest menstrual justice charity in Aotearoa, working towards period equity.
We do this through advocacy, outreach, education, promotion and our nationwide period product donation programme.
The Period Place is uniquely suited in Aotearoa to carry out our mahi under our three foundational pillars: conversation, education and access. Thanks to the support of our wonderful donators and our amazing strategic partners, we can provide period products to our impact partners, which can distribute them to the most vulnerable members of our society.
Our advocay partners support us in our battle to achieve Period Equity, leading programmes and making long term changes that benefits our NZ communities.
